Finally caught up
I recently filed my taxes online for 2011-Adam helped me:) and was pleasantly surprised to get back MUCH more money than I thought I would. This made me so happy because I feel as though I can never fully get ahead of the game financially. I don't really have a full time job and by the time I got my nanny job last summer, I was already down in a hole. Getting paid every week helps greatly, but mainly just keeps me afloat between the bills I must pay as a lame adult lol. But with my tax money in my account SUPER FAST I finally have a little cushion and a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders for the time being. I'm keeping everything crossed that next month I will find out about the French Immersion School English teaching position I applied for, but until then, I'm paying bills, catching up and actually able to NOT worry about money for the time being:)
Out like a lamb??
March has been a blustery month to say the least! With tons of rain, wind and even some snow so far this month, you never can tell what you are going to wake up to. I personally don't mind the changes in weather, especially since we normally only have rain. However, I could do with a bit more sunny days in there:)
In the few sunny days that have made an appearance, I have managed to take some nice walks with Adam and play a little footy in the park. I have always felt that I was built to play soccer lol, but never was able to learn the sport by the time I was interested in playing so Adam is teaching me some skills:) He taught me how to head the ball (I try not to say "ouch" every time ;p), how to run and dribble as well as do a little flip kick move. We had a lovely time kicking the ball around last week! I'm excited to play more!
Our flowers have already sprung up in our front yard and they.are.BEAUTIFUL! I hope this means that even though March has come in like a lion it plans to go out like a lamb and bring more sunny days.

My baby brother turns 19!!!
So many March birthdays!!! A very important birthday happened Sunday, March 4th....my littlest brother, Caleb, turned 19:) I'm so proud of the man he continues to grow into every day. Our little Cabub is sweet, kind, determined, hilarious, awesome, smart, and sometimes a wee bit stubborn, but we sure do love him!!! So here's to many many more wonderful birthdays Caleb:) I love you more every day baby brother!
It's like we're related or something;)
Because it's 80's night! Oh what a, OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!
Birthday shout out to Chris Kay on Thursday March 1st! To help our good friend celebrate joining the club of 29 year olds we rounded up the coolest troops, dressed in our best 80's gear and headed to Lola's room to dance the night away (80's style of course:) Anyone who knows CK knows how much he LOVES anything that is 80s. Is there a better way to celebrate his birthday??
Happy birthday Chris!
HAWKS!
Thank you LivingSocial for yet another great Portland deal:) On Tuesday evening, February 28th, Adam, Carly, Sean and I went to see the Winterhawks play Canada (yes, I say Canada because I can't keep all the teams straight lol-my Canadian amigos would be SO disappointed in me!;) I don't exactly follow hockey, but am always down for spending time with great friends and hoping to see a fight or two on the ice:) Carly surprised Sean and didn't tell him Adam and I were coming too. He was so excited when we showed up for pre-game drinks:) The game was awesome and the Winterhawks put on quite a show winning 5-2. What a great time!
Somos Timbers!!!
Guess what season started last week?? MLS soccer is back in Portland! Monday, February 27th was the first pre-season home game for the Timbers and lucky me, I got to go with Adam:) The Timbers played San Jose on Monday for the first round in the pre-season tournament and drew 1-1. It wasn't a bad match to start off, seeing as we are still missing some key players, but I expect a better showing in games to come. The Army was in full force and LOUD as usual:) It felt nice to be back cheering beside Adam in the stands! Although it was freeeeezing, I enjoyed myself immensely and look forward to both Thursday and Sundays games this week to finish pre-season:)
