Mushy love and hearts day ♥

Yep, it's that time of year again...you know, the holiday that pretty much stops being fun once you are no longer getting valentines from classmates until you are in a relationship with someone special.
(Unless you are a teacher (haha) then you are forced to love Valentines day and celebrate with your class every year whether you want to or not;D)
While single, I would make the best of it, share the love with those in my life even if I had no man lol, but it always still kind of made me sad because it put into focus that I wasn't in love.

Valentines day 2011 changed all of that:) So...technically this is Adam's and my 2nd Valentines day together-I made him bacon brownies last year;p However, given that we didn't make our couple status “official” until closer to June (I knew the moment we kissed on New Year's Eve 2010 that I was done looking;) this year we actually did all the silly, yet fun and romantic Valentines shenanigans.

Originally we planned to stay in, Adam offered to cook us dinner (BIG smile here) and I made a pie for dessert-nothing fancy folks haha you know I'm a wiz in the kitchen;) chocolate pudding pie! We were going to have a quiet evening in, just the two of us. This changed when I got the opportunity to get Adam tickets to the Blazer game on Valentines day a few days prior. The seats were a friends' and VERY good. Too good to pass up so I altered our evening plans and surprised Adam with the tickets:) Adam made us bacon cheeseburgers with grilled veggies and baked potatoes...he knows me well;p It was great! We had red wine with our dinner and opened gifts. I got a lovely flowering plant as well as tickets to see one of my favorite bands Foster the People play this summer at Edgefield AND the Blazer game on February 21st! I got Adam some OSU sweatpants for relaxing and the Blazer tickets for V-day game. How funny is it that we both got one another tickets to Blazer games? :)
Although the Blazers lost, bad lol, we had a nice time together in great seats (thanks McDonalds!). I would call our “first” Valentines day a success.

Who knew I actually liked all those silly things? I guess with the right person in your life all those things matter a little bit more:)

FOTM with great friends

Ever wonder where in P-town the best hot wings can be found? I can answer that for you...Fire on the Mountain (FOTM for those that frequent there;). FOTM is hands down the most tasty place to eat chicken wings-you choose how spicy, along with many other treats to make you smile:) Deep fried oreos for example!

FOTM has become our group of friends' place to meet up, catch up, eat, drink and laugh any night of the week. I look forward to meeting up with everyone-usually consisting of Adam, Kasey, Chris K, Chris B, Jeff, Joe, Missy, Scotty, Jenny, Kelli (now:), Nate, Bo and myself. Quite a group right!? We always have a blast and leave well fed and happy:) Go. Try it! Get yourselves to FOTM for some wings done right, Rainier beer, and perhaps a deep fried oreo for dessert:)

Cover Your Hearts

On Saturday February 11, 1012, I attended another (this marks my 2nd year) wicked good Cover your hearts concert. This year I went with my valentine Adam as well as Keli, Chris K, Jeff, Sheena, Kasey, Joe and Missy. We all LOVE our 80's cover bands singing love ballads;) If you haven't been to this concert yet and you love the 80's as much as I do, PUT IT IN YOUR PLANNER FOR NEXT YEAR! It seriously is awesome, so much fun and the bands put on a wicked show every year at the Wonder ballroom. It is not your traditional Valentines day activity, but it sure adds to Valentines day fun:)
See you next year!

Sushi dates

One of my favorite things about dating Adam Sapina is his adventurous side, specifically for this post...food:) It's something that can be hard to find in another individual and lucky for me, and interest we have in common.

We both live in the awesome city of Portland (SE side) and have any and all varieties of cuisine available within just a few miles. Adam and I love to try new restaurants, especially sushi bars and Thai food!

January and February have been filled with new and delightful sushi! We even have started a tradition of our own sushi night almost every Sunday after his basketball game:) Trying new rolls has become a serious passion for us. It's nice that we also have several friends who also enjoy raw fish as it makes for fun double dates:) A few weeks ago, we had lunch with friends Ben and Lindsey at a sushi restaurant in the Pearl we had yet to try and it.was.GOOD! The next weekend, we had lunch with Crystal and Adam out in Gresham at one of their favorite sushi places, also fantastic! I like to choose rolls with fun names like Volcano roll:) You never can tell where we will end up eating next! Any good sushi or Thai places you would recommend in Portland? Message me:)

Best mom ever ♥

Special birthday shout out February 8, 2012 to my talented, kind, funny, intelligent, amazing mom:) Lots of love and hope this year brings you many more great adventures! ♥

New commercials

Super bowl Sunday, on February 5th this year,  is always such a “thrilling” day haha:) Especially when neither team in the game is one that you follow or particularly care about. However, it is one of my favorite days because you get gather with good friends in someone's living room and eat food, drink good brews and laugh at the ridiculous, new commercials being shown. Oh aaaaand watch football:)

I had a blast this year! Adam and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with Jeff, Racheal, Jaime and Dustin complete with an A-mazing selection of delicious foods (roast beef wantons, home brewed beer, spinach dips, treats and many other tasty yummies:). Bonus, the game was actually good too! We all watched football, laughed, ate and had quite an enjoyable Sunday fun-day!

Living it up!

Had a nice surprise on February 1, 2012 from Adam...he bought Blazer club tickets from Scott and Jenny for us to attend:) I love, love LOVE going to Blazer games! He knows what is lady likes;)

We went an hour or so early before the game to meet up with Scott and Jenny and enjoy some perks of club seats at a Blazer game, including free buffet food before the game and free food and non-alcoholic beverages during the game until after half-time. A pretty saaaaweeet deal! We had delicious food before the game and LOTS of yummy snacks were had during the game! I think we ate our tickets worth:) Popcorn, icecream, soda, water, and many other free treats. Not to mention the Blazers absolutely blew out the other team! DOUBLE WIN:)
