Well folks, it has been a looong year, but all in all a pretty good decade I would say. 2009 was filled with lots of traveling-mostly back and forth to Vegas, which was AWESOME every single time;D There was lots of subbing in just about every subject area-I now consider myself versed in everything, not a master of everything, but quite the dabbler! I learned a new skill to keep my hands busy-knitting, fell in love with many new novels-yes the Twilight series ranks #1 with Percy Jackson and the Olympians a close 2nd. I was lucky to meet new friends from fascinating places around the world just itching for me to visit I'm sure! I spent the year living back at home with the folks, Cabub and the beagle boys, how lucky I am to have the chance to strengthen my relationship with each of them. I even got a job for Christmas! Did I mention the freak Oregon snow storm that greeted us just three days ago?! I went to see Avatar (another post to come dedicated COMPLETELY to this film) with the Tallmans and upon exiting the theater we were greeted by a winter wonderland! It snowed for about six hours straight resting a couple inches of glorious white upon the ground. Although the snow barely lasted a day, it was a treat:D2009 also brought with it heartache and sadness. In April, my niece Elizabeth died suddenly just a few days before her 13th birthday. Some things just can't be explained.
My good friend Alicia was able to come home for a few weeks for Christmas. We decided to ring in the new year "partners in crime" so to speak at a country bar. Oh how I love watching older couples two-step all around the floor! Our last night in this decade was filled with mason jars, line-dancing, two-stepping, people watching, laughter, and new friends.
Here's to the start of something new...a new day, new month, new year, new decade:)

Great post, sistah! What a year! I do think a trip to New Zealand is in order for you! Especially with your new teaching position! Loving your new blog look too! It's very YOU. Keep blogging! xo
