Let the birthday month commence!

This post is actually for yesterday, but since I had zero time to write what with taking my car in to get the window fixed, running errands, working out and leaving for the Oregon State football game all by 2:30 p.m., you can see why I waited until this morning to compose :) We didn't get home until around 11:30 p.m. and were totally exhausted as well.

So yesterday, Friday November 1st, officially kicked off the start of my 31st birthday month! 32nd if you are my dad, who counts the months leading up to turning one year old :) How did I spend my day you ask?? Well, on Wednesday I was delighted to find that my driver's side window would no longer stay up, roll down or roll up with the push of a button. LAME. After sealing the window with semi clear plastic and masking tape so I could drive my car without getting frozen out or wet, I finally got it in to Meineke so they could take my door apart, get my window in the upright position securing with duct tape and diagnose the problem. After almost two hours of waiting for what should have taken an hour tops, the technician was almost an hour late and then they had to make a call for duct tape...honestly?? What mechanics shop doesn't have duct tape on hand??!! Ridiculous! I left with an estimate of over $350 to fix a broken window regulator. Um, nope. That's not happening. I called my jeep guy Paul and he said he could fix it for around $130-150, but not until Monday, which would have been a lot of driving back and forth to Vancouver for my dad, Adam and my mom since I have to work an eleven hour day on Monday:/ Not exactly ideal, but doable. Of course I posted my woes on FB where my friend Sean commented and called offering to come over today (Saturday) and fix it for me for the price of the part $90. WHAT?!! :) This just about made my day! Such a nice offer from a talented friend willing to lend some time to help me out. I of course will feed and beer him while he works:) It's the least I can do! So thank you Sean Pierce for offering your kindness and your services to make my life (and wallet) a little bit happier!!

After the jeep drama concluded, I had time to squeeze in a workout, stop by the bank, buy hay for the bunnies, give Falcon new purple fluff, shower and head out the door for a 6:00 p.m. OSU game in Corvallis! Adam reeeeaaaaally wanted to tailgate with everyone and got off a little early (1:30 p.m.) So I had to hurry to be out the door by 2:30 p.m., I thought we weren't leaving until 3:00 p.m.) With traffic and such we ended up having about 20 minutes to tailgate, but that's more that none at all! The game was a total SUCK fest. Totally disappointing turnout, but at least the weather was decent. Hopefully after a by week next week the Beavs will be back in action against Arizona State. We did get some cute pictures out of the evening though :) Enjoy!
